Apparently, the GOP is looking for a reason to impeach President Barack Obama. To all Newsvine people who support your president, be alerted. When the GOP takes "control" (what else do they live for?) in January 2011, one Darrell Issa, a Republican from California has pledged to hold "hundreds of hearings" into President Obama and the White House. It's "Whitewater" Redoux all over again. Until you take a good look at who Darrell Issa is. When you check out his bio, you find out he is the wealthiest Republican Congressmen in the GOP. His net worth is $250,000 million as a result of being CEO of Directed Electronics, a manufacturer of automotive security and convenience products (read lots of tricked out crappola for those Jags, BMWs and Mercedes owners). Issa is a second generation Lebanese American who was accused of auto theft by a retired Army seargent in 1971. Not to worry. Coverups are what the Republicans are expert at. By 1979, he and his brother were accused of grand theft auto when they faked the theft of a Mercedes. This after they "allegedly" stole a Maserati in 1972. Strike three?
But, back to Issa's main target: Your president and the entire Democratic cabinet. Somehow, big money managed to influence his position in the GOP. What else explains his now being on the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs, the House Judiciary (with his past record of theft?) Committee and the US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform of which he is a ranking member. This is the man who bashed the 9/11 widows, the 9/11 EMTs and is now interested in tearing down the president of our country. When you consider his "boys will be boys" past, he now intends to force us to spend much needed US tax revenues to investigate Obama's role in the AIG bailout, the defunct mortgage firm Countrywide and White House attempts to get candidates out of certain races.
Where he gets his nerve is anyone's guess. He voted for the invasion of Iraq. He voted for the NSA and with the majority of Republicans 94% of the time. He voted against the Employment NonDiscrimination Act which would prohibit employers from discriminating against employees with differing sexual orientations. Meanwhile, he supported Blackwater in the lawsuit against the outsourced military group put forth by widows of 4 Blackwater security guards killed in Fallujah.
If we allow Issa to waste precious tax dollars we don't have on another round of garbage investigations, we give the GOP license to inflict more wounds to the Constitution that protects majority rule. Just thought you would all like to know.
