I was watching a commercial on a local cable station last night and was so appalled by the lies it contained. I called the 800 number and found I was speaking to someone from US Citizens Association. Not one to leave a stone unturned, I spent some time googling to find out who their chief executive of USCA is. Turns out the chief executive is Lance Davis.
Who, you might ask is Lance Davis? In addition to touting himself as the chief executive of USCA, he is also a lobbyist who can claim ties to Shirley & Baniste, Swift Boat innovators, Fred Dalton Thompson, GOP 2008 primary candidate, and according to Infocision's website where Davis is a Marketing Director, New Gingrich who "contracted" for Infocision polls. He was formerly connected to the 75 year old Better Government Group out of Chicago until he was he was, for all intents and purposes, booted due to complaints to BGA.
USCA has been paying for commercials packed with outright lies about Obama's health care reform. No surprise since he's also tied to Benjamin D. Suarez, a pitbull of marketing who doesn't mind speaking his mind so long as no one speaks theirs about him, according to a lawsuit he filed against a VA journalist.
Both Davis and Suarez are slash and burn, search and destroy mentalities when their ideologies are at risk. Yet, Davis has been sued in Florida for advertising outright lies in the Sun newspaper, which this newest commercial also contain. This newest commercial is 100% pure, unadulterated fearmongering. It's scripted to scare the bejeesus out of any elderly person or those with less knowledge regarding health care reform.
I took the trouble to phone them and ask why they needed to use fear as their only tactic to get an opposing point of view across. The reply, "I'm sorry. This call is in appropriate."
Once again, the right wing proves their bullying and fearmongering is the only substance of their ideology. In order to access the bio on Davis, you have to become a member. Anyone into infiltration USCA to find out why Lance Davis is afraid to post his photo anywhere on the net?
I adhere to the constitutional right of Free Speech. So long as Free Speech is the truth. Yet, the USCA clerk who answered the phone seemed less interested in truth than she was in adding membership to an organization that has a tarnished and superfanged executive director who chooses varnishing the truth and lacquering it with his own gloss. The right to free speech doesn't include free speech so exaggerated, so full of fear tactics that it sounds more like a brainwashing script.
USCA is nothing more than a bunch of extremists who want to insure that they attract other like-minded extremists. That's a substantial reason to be watchful of their extremism. Extremism isn't necessary in a democracy. Nor, is it in any way necessary if the people presenting their point of view had any measure of intelligence.
